This year marks the 40th anniversary in the hair care business for Ralph Santangelo, president and founder of Santangelo Hair Designer Salons & Day Spa for men and women. Bringing the latest and most innovative hair styles to Western New York has always been the goal for Ralph Santangelo. Over the years his staff with 2 salons, have provided the finest in hair replacement products and services, massage therapy, manicures and pedicures, facials and skin care products.

"Over the last 15 years I've wanted to develop a line of hair care products, but one thing or another always comes in the way," he said. With the help of an area chemist and 25 stylists employed at Santangelo hair salons, the product line fulfills a longtime desire for Santangelo.

"A lot of companies have called me and wanted me to take their product and put my name on it, but that’s too generic, I didn't have the control I wanted." The new natural products are also used in the workshops with Santangelo’s hair replacement that features European human hair. "We needed something to make that hair seem healthy and natural feeling," he said. "Our shampoo won’t strip the hair." The hair products are made with all top notch ingredients, minerals, proteins and natural scents.

Ralph Santangelo began cutting hair in a Harlem Road barber shop in 1966. He opened his first salon in 1973 on Union Road which is currently a full service day spa, featuring cuts, colors, perms, massage therapists, skin care technicians, manicurists, and electrolysis procedures. A second location opened in 1980 and is a complete hair replacement center, equipped to serve clients in need of surgical or non-surgical hair additions, performed by a board certified physician.
